jonny wrote the words on the back of an envelope in john's kitchen, new year's eve 2002. we were on the way to new year with the sisters of misery (and we have a lovely night so we did). bit of a piano tune too, which was a move away from the norm. it was inspired by cups of tea, sandwiches on a saturday, and a visit from the paramedics - we thought that one of the sisters was about to leave this earth. but she didn't, and we all lived happily after not speaking of the event.
